Abstract

Senior High School (SHS) covers the last two years of the K to 12 program. In SHS, students will go through a core curriculum and subjects under a track of their choice. One of the core subjects is Physical Science which requires 80 hours per semester. There is still a dearth of reference materials prepared which are aligned to the SHS competencies. Hence, the researchers developed a workbook to partly address the dilemma. The Proton: Workbook in Physical Science was validated by experts and students and piloted among college freshmen. The expert validators “strongly agree†that the developed instructional material possesses adequacy, coherence, appropriateness and usefulness as indicated in the overall mean of 3.90 (sd=0.06). Likewise, the students rated the workbook to be very much acceptable based on the overall mean of 3.79 (sd=0.39). The developed workbook is recommended for use as instructional material for the core course in senior high school. It is further recommended that instructors should also develop workbook in other science core courses in the K12 senior high school curriculum.
